A tool that checks other people's sites for barriers ought to say plainly how it does itself.
How well this site conforms
This site aims to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We believe it currently meets that standard, with the honest caveat below.
We check it with our own scanner, which finds only what a machine can find - roughly half of all accessibility problems. It has not been audited by a person who relies on assistive technology. That is the single biggest limitation of this statement, and we would rather say so than imply a thoroughness we have not paid for.
What we know is imperfect
- The two score dials are drawn as pictures. Each carries a text description, and every number is repeated in writing, but the dials themselves convey nothing on their own.
- Reports are built in the browser after a scan finishes. The result is announced, but a very long report can be a lot to move through with a screen reader.
- The site has not been tested with voice control software, or with a switch device.
