Plainly: it is free, it is a guide and not a certificate, and you scan sites you have the right to scan.
What this is
Lightmorphic Access is a free automated accessibility checker run by Lightmorphic Ltd. You enter a domain, it reads that site's public pages as they are served, and it reports what it found against WCAG 2.2 AA and what the accessibility laws of various countries ask for.
What it is not
It is not a statement that your site complies with any law, and nothing it produces should be read as one. An automated check finds roughly half of all accessibility problems; the rest needs a person. It is not legal advice. It is not an audit, and it is not a substitute for testing with real assistive technology and real disabled users.
A clear result means nothing obvious is broken. It is a good place to start from, not a certificate.
What you agree to
- Only scan websites you own, or have the owner's permission to check.
- Do not use the checker to attack, overload or map anybody's site, and do not try to get round the daily limits.
- Do not resell the reports or pass them off as your own audit.
We may refuse or stop a scan, and block anyone abusing the service, without notice.
What we are responsible for
The service is provided as it is, free, with no guarantee that it will always be available or that every finding is right. Results are a snapshot of the moment we tested and can differ between scans as a site changes. Please check anything important yourself and take professional advice before acting on it.
So far as the law allows, Lightmorphic Ltd is not liable for any loss, cost or decision arising from a scan, a report, or the service being unavailable. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Your report, and your content
The report is yours to keep, use and hand to whoever fixes your site. The checker's own wording and design remain ours. We claim nothing over the sites you scan.
Governing law, and getting in touch
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If we change them, the date at the bottom of this page changes with them.
